Joint Performance

Jointing systems C and F must guaranteethe following features:

Water tightness

Spigot and socket special design and interference foreseen give a seal that is watertight and a pressure

of (0.5, 1 and 2.4 bar) either internal or external. For preventing the penetration of the roots we use a

polyurethane joint with hardness of 67 “+- 5” shore A. (fig. 1). After filling the pipes with water

(laminar flow) and insuring that the air in the line is out, water pressure of (0.5) is applied for a period of 15 minutes. The water loss in this period shouldn’t exceed 0.04 liter/ml for the pipeline according

to the European Standards.

Angular Deflection

according to EN 295-3:2012, one pipe in a joint assembly

shall be submitted to a deflection in which the joint assembly

can resist  the test’s pressure without any kind of water leakage.
